You will join the Technology Operations team as the primary on-site technology resource for the Boston office. This is a hands-on role where you'll be the go-to problem solver for all technology needs, serving as the local escalation path and primary contact for Boston while partnering with TechOps teammates in San Francisco and Zurich to support a globally distributed workforce.
Key responsibilities include:
- Serve as primary on-site technology resource and local escalation path for Boston office
- Provide Tier 1 Helpdesk support for software, hardware, application access, AV, and networking across Boston, remote, SF, and Zurich offices
- Own IT Asset Management (ITAM) for Boston, including inventory, procurement, stock levels, asset lifecycle, refresh, and device retirement
- Monitor and maintain Helpdesk SLAs for first response and full resolution
- Administer SaaS applications including Okta, Google Workspace, Slack, Jira, Zoom, and Office365
- Provide occasional EMEA business hours coverage for Zurich office when needed
- Own local onboarding experience for Boston, including system preparation and new hire orientation
- Lead TechOps projects in identity and access management, client platform, and AV systems
- Collaborate with Workplace, Information Security, and cross-functional teams
- Develop and maintain Technology Operations documentation
The role offers a flexible hybrid arrangement with expectations to be on-site 3 days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday). This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about technology, problem-solving, and helping others succeed in a fast-paced, SaaS-driven biotech environment.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years experience troubleshooting hardware, software, and systems in a corporate environment supporting Mac OS and Windows
- 3+ years experience in a heavily SaaS-based environment
- Experience owning or meaningfully contributing to IT asset management, including inventory, procurement, and device lifecycle
- Comfortable operating as sole or primary on-site technology resource for a location, with judgment to know when to escalate
- Willingness to occasionally flex working hours for EMEA backup coverage
- Excellent communication skills and customer service attitude
- Experience with IAM platforms, specifically Okta or similar
- Experience with ITSM, specifically Jira Service Management or any Helpdesk ticketing system
- Experience with endpoint management tools such as Jamf, Fleet, Intune, AWS Workspace, or WorkspaceONE
- Experience with video conferencing and AV systems
- Experience with network troubleshooting
- Motivated by helping others succeed; eager to solve problems and improve efficiency
