Cloudsmith is the world's most powerful artifact management platform, serving software organizations of all sizes. The company provides curated private repositories that proxy public open-source software registries, supporting over 30 formats including popular languages, package managers, operating systems, and AI/container protocols. Cloudsmith is critical infrastructure for enterprise customers managing their software supply chains. You will join the documentation team as a Technical Writer, reporting to the Senior Technical Writer. This is a hands-on role focused on creating and maintaining high-quality documentation that is a key differentiator for Cloudsmith. You'll take primary ownership of documenting specific product areas—package registries, artifact management, software supply chain security, and the DevSecOps ecosystem—helping developers become experts in these domains. Key responsibilities include: • Writing documentation for new products and features by working directly with engineers to understand functionality before launch • Creating guides and best-practice content for customers and users • Creating and managing multimedia assets (screenshots, short-form video) for documentation • Reviewing, editing, and publishing documentation contributions from others • Managing and publishing content to Cloudsmith's changelog • Partnering with product managers to flag documentation needs early, ensuring docs ship alongside releases • Working with customer success and sales to identify documentation gaps and friction points • Collaborating with Cloudsmith's partners on their documentation accuracy • Owning prioritization of a backlog of content improvements • Becoming a genuinely informed user of Cloudsmith's product, features, and integrations You'll have the opportunity to shape how developers at organizations of every size understand and adopt secure software supply chain practices. Your documentation will be the frontline experience for how customers learn and succeed with Cloudsmith, directly impacting organizations from startups to Fortune 500 companies. Cloudsmith is headquartered in Belfast, Northern Ireland, with fully-equipped 24/7 office space. The company holds company off-sites twice yearly and conducts regular (monthly-ish) team meetings and (quarterly-ish) customer/event travel. Many team members work remotely, with collaboration via Slack, Google Docs, Linear, and similar tools. REQUIREMENTS: • 5+ years of technical writing experience, preferably for a software developer audience • Proficiency in HTML and Markdown • Comfort with "docs as code" and git-based version control workflows • Working familiarity with package management, artifact registries, or DevOps toolchains (npm, Docker, Maven, Terraform, or similar) • Clear, precise technical communication skills • Curiosity and motivation to learn quickly; comfort asking engineers "why" until you understand a feature • Must be based in Ireland, the United Kingdom, or the USA with the right to work independently without sponsorship
