Cloudflare is seeking a Global Commodity Sourcing Manager to lead strategic hardware procurement and vendor engagement for its 200+ global data centers. This role combines strategic sourcing expertise with operational execution, bridging procurement and physical infrastructure deployment.
Key responsibilities include owning procurement efforts across network hardware (routers, switches, interconnect commodities), developing long-term Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) targets, and leading complex multi-party vendor negotiations. You will oversee supplier quality and adherence to delivery terms for network maintenance and support contracts, managing yearly contracts with up-to-date asset inventory lists.
The role requires cross-functional leadership to introduce robust vendor evaluation processes (RFX, QBR) and partner closely with hardware engineering on new technologies. You will coordinate global infrastructure installations by managing supply inflow from manufacturers against worldwide deployment schedules, and aggressively seek automation opportunities to optimize physical deployment processes across all datacenter regions.
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of experience with networking equipment OEMs, direct experience executing complex datacenter infrastructure projects, and deep understanding of both commercial benefits and practical knowledge of physical datacenter networking. Strong communication skills are essential to translate complex technical details to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The role values AI-native curiosity and basic proficiency with AI tools (generative AI, LLMs, data analytics) to optimize workflows and accelerate analysis. An engineering or analytical background supporting TCO modeling is preferred. Bonus qualifications include a Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or engineering; familiarity with AI/ML hardware sourcing (GPUs, high-throughput interconnects); program management experience across large cross-functional teams; and experience with DCIM tools and project management software like JIRA.
