LlamaIndex is seeking a Technical Sourcer to identify and engage exceptional talent across AI, engineering, research, and product functions. You will work closely with recruiters and hiring leaders to understand talent needs, map competitive markets, and build high-quality pipelines for technical roles.
Key responsibilities include developing sourcing strategies for AI, machine learning, research, and software engineering positions; identifying and engaging passive candidates through LinkedIn Recruiter, Gem, GitHub, research communities, and professional networks; building targeted market maps and talent pipelines; writing personalized outreach that communicates the company's mission; partnering with recruiters and hiring managers to define target profiles; assessing candidates' technical relevance and fit; tracking pipeline metrics in Gem and recruiting systems; maintaining accurate candidate records; experimenting with new sourcing tools and channels; and representing the company professionally to create a positive candidate experience.
Required qualifications include 3+ years of technical sourcing experience, ideally in an AI company or high-growth technology startup; experience sourcing software engineers, machine learning engineers, research engineers, or applied scientists; strong knowledge of LinkedIn Recruiter, Gem, and other recruiting tools; ability to understand technical profiles and translate hiring requirements into sourcing strategies; excellent written communication and outreach skills; strong research instincts, attention to detail, and organizational skills; genuine enthusiasm for sourcing and connecting talent with opportunities; comfort in fast-moving environments; and a collaborative, resourceful approach focused on quality over volume.
Nice-to-have qualifications include familiarity with generative AI, LLM, agent, developer-tools, or AI infrastructure ecosystems; experience sourcing from research communities, open-source projects, GitHub, conferences, or academic publications; experience with early-stage or rapidly scaling startups; knowledge of talent intelligence and sourcing analytics; and experience with creative sourcing campaigns or AI-assisted recruiting tools.
This is an in-person role at the downtown San Francisco office, with emphasis on understanding company culture, staying close to hiring teams, meeting visiting candidates, and building trust with hiring managers.
