Perplexity AI is seeking a Technical Recruiter to lead full-cycle recruitment for engineering and research roles across EMEA, with a focus on Search, AI, and Infrastructure teams. This is a non-traditional recruiting role designed for a builder with strong technical grounding and genuine passion for sourcing.
You will partner closely with hiring managers and engineers to identify, engage, and inspire world-class talent capable of solving challenging problems in AI. The role emphasizes treating sourcing as a system to be engineered rather than manual tasks, leveraging AI to automate and augment your workflow.
Key responsibilities include: building outbound-first pipelines through advanced research, talent mapping across frontier labs and academia, referrals, and AI-assisted automation; partnering with hiring managers to calibrate candidate profiles and sharpen hiring bars; serving as candidates' first introduction to Perplexity with authentic storytelling about mission, product, and culture; tracking and analyzing pipeline data to improve sourcing strategy; and building custom tooling where off-the-shelf solutions fall short.
You will operate with agility as priorities shift, managing hard-to-fill roles, new initiatives, and compressed timelines. The ideal candidate brings 4+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience with a proven track record filling hard roles through outbound and talent mapping. You should have strong technical literacy, comfort holding credible conversations with senior engineers, and a builder's instinct for AI—eager to adopt new tools, automate workflows, and experiment with AI applications in recruiting. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with candidates, hiring managers, and cross-functional partners are essential, along with a mindset that thrives on curiosity, iteration, and impact.
