Salary: USD 170,000 - 250,000 / annual
Traversal is an AI Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) platform trusted by large enterprises to troubleshoot, remediate, and prevent complex production incidents. The company is building an AI agent lab for the enterprise, with a team of researchers from MIT, Harvard, and Berkeley alongside engineers from top firms like Citadel Securities, Datadog, and Perplexity.
As a Technical Recruiter, you will own full-cycle hiring for critical roles within the Engineering, Product, and Design (EPD) team, with potential to expand across the company as it scales. You'll partner directly with hiring managers and founders to define hiring strategy, build and manage candidate pipelines, and deliver an exceptional candidate experience from initial outreach through offer acceptance.
Key responsibilities include managing full-cycle recruiting from intake through offer for assigned roles; partnering with leaders to build hiring strategy and translate it into effective sourcing and screening plans; proactively sourcing and engaging top candidates rather than relying solely on inbound applications; driving a best-in-class candidate experience with thoughtful communication; improving recruiting processes and infrastructure by building scalable playbooks; and representing Traversal as a strong company ambassador in all candidate interactions.
You'll need 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, ideally including technical hiring at a startup or high-growth company. You should demonstrate the ability to source and close candidates independently, have strong stakeholder management skills, and be comfortable driving process with engineering, product, and design leaders. Excellent written and verbal communication, high ownership, and comfort with ambiguity are essential. You'll manage a high volume of concurrent searches with strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Genuine curiosity about AI and enterprise software, with the ability to speak credibly to technical candidates, is required.
Nice-to-have qualifications include recruiting experience at early-stage (Series A/B) AI or developer tooling startups, experience recruiting for applied research or ML-heavy roles, familiarity with modern ATS and sourcing tools (Ashby, LinkedIn Recruiter, Gem), experience building recruiting processes from scratch, and experience with AI-native recruiting tools.
