Solcoa is building next-generation American metalmaking, starting with rare earths—the metals powering EVs, fighter jets, wind turbines, and data centers. The company has developed proprietary chemistry to convert rare earth oxides into high-purity metals more cleanly, cheaply, and quickly than conventional processes, and is now scaling to thousands of tonnes of annual production.
As Technical Recruiter, you'll own end-to-end recruiting for engineering, process, and technical operations teams during a critical growth phase as the company commissions its first plant. You'll partner closely with founders and hiring managers across process engineering, chemistry, materials science, mechanical engineering, and manufacturing operations to understand technical requirements and team dynamics.
Key responsibilities include developing targeted sourcing strategies for rare earths, metallurgy, chemical/process engineering, mechanical engineering, and advanced manufacturing talent; managing the full recruiting pipeline from sourcing through offer negotiation; building candidate pipelines for both immediate and future needs; conducting in-depth technical assessments; providing market insights on compensation and competitive landscape in cleantech, semiconductors, and advanced manufacturing; ensuring strong candidate experience; owning the Ashby ATS and improving workflows; and tracking metrics to drive continuous improvement.
You'll need proven technical recruiting experience in startups, in-house manufacturing, or recruiting agencies; success hiring for process engineers, chemical engineers, mechanical engineers, manufacturing engineers, metallurgists, operators, and technicians; ability to partner with and influence founders and technical leaders; solid understanding of hard tech and advanced manufacturing hiring landscapes; excellent communication and negotiation skills; and a data-driven mindset. Preferred qualifications include experience in rare earths, metallurgy, recycling, battery materials, or semiconductors; recruiting hourly/non-exempt operators and technicians; and building TA processes at early-stage companies.
