As a Technical Recruiter, you'll own the full recruiting cycle end-to-end—sourcing, outreach, interviews, and closing—working directly with founders and leadership to scale the company. This role is distinctive because you'll leverage Exa's in-house agentic systems built on their search engine to supercharge recruiting workflows, moving beyond traditional recruiting into AI-augmented talent acquisition.
Key responsibilities include representing Exa externally to attract top-tier engineers and researchers, partnering with founders and team leads to scope roles and identify high-leverage hires, building and optimizing recruiting systems using Exa's proprietary tools, experimenting with creative sourcing strategies in the competitive SF startup market, and helping shape the company's talent brand as it scales at 1.5x+ headcount growth quarterly.
You should have 2+ years recruiting for technical roles in startups or high-growth tech companies, deep familiarity with SF startup culture and ability to identify top 1% talent, strong communication skills to tell compelling stories and sell vision, technical literacy (coding background is a bonus), and a builder mindset focused on designing recruiting systems rather than just executing them. Comfort in fast-moving, high-growth environments is essential.
