Linear is seeking an experienced Technical Recruiter to build the company's engineering talent pipeline across North America. Linear is a SaaS platform for product development and issue tracking, used by 40,000+ companies including OpenAI, Coinbase, and Ramp. The company is remote-first with optional offices in San Francisco, New York, and London.
In this hands-on role, you'll own full-cycle recruiting for engineering talent, working closely with engineering leadership across product, infrastructure, AI, mobile, and emerging technical areas. Your responsibilities include talent mapping and sourcing, conducting in-depth assessments to identify engineers with strong technical foundations and product judgment, maintaining pipeline momentum through transparent communication, and using data to continuously improve sourcing strategies. You'll maintain accurate records in Ashby and ensure hiring partners have clear visibility into pipeline health.
Linear engineers combine technical depth with product judgment, craftsmanship, and significant ownership—finding them requires more than resume matching. You'll need to recognize these qualities, reach candidates with precision, and sharpen your judgment through close partnership with the team. While engineering will be your primary focus, you'll also support other functions as company priorities evolve.
The ideal candidate has 5+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience at high-growth startups or product-led tech companies. You should have exceptional sourcing ability, strong judgment about technical talent and product orientation, and the ability to build credibility with highly sought-after engineers. You'll need clear communication skills, high operating discipline, and comfort working without heavy process on a small, distributed team. Familiarity with Linear or companies known for exceptional software craftsmanship is valued.
