Scale AI is hiring a Technical Program Manager to lead delivery of agentic AI workflows for a national security customer. This role sits at the intersection of program leadership, customer relationship management, technical depth, and mission-critical execution.
You will own or support a customer account plan, triage technical issues, and use data-driven insights to align internal resources around Scale's most challenging problems. You'll drive workflows that underpin solution reliability for public sector customers, working across engineering, operations, and product teams to build and deliver AI systems tailored to unique government use cases in computer vision and generative AI.
Key responsibilities include: diving deep into technical and operational challenges to solve undefined problems; leveraging technical expertise to create or improve solutions; using analytics to align resources and build customer-facing tools; transitioning AI/ML technologies into working public sector products even with ambiguous requirements; leading cross-functional teams to exceed customer AI/ML objectives; managing long-term customer health by identifying and preempting risks; and identifying repeatable patterns for future customer success.
Must-haves: active TS/SCI clearance; 3+ years in stakeholder management or customer-facing roles; technical background in computer science, statistics, or engineering; deep understanding of generative AI/ML fundamentals (RAG, evals, agent orchestration); track record of structured, analytics-driven problem-solving; excellent communication skills; ability to work at a cleared facility in the greater Boston area 3+ days/week with 25% travel (occasionally 50%).
Nice-to-haves include aerospace manufacturing familiarity (CAD, PLM, configuration management, digital twins) and prior experience on legacy aircraft sustainment or MRO programs. The team typically includes members with 10+ years of professional experience, often in customer-facing technical program management in industry or government, prior API technology company experience, and Python or other programming language proficiency.
