Salary: USD 138,400 - 249,000 / annual
Scale AI is hiring a Technical Program Manager to lead delivery of agentic AI workflows for U.S. government national security customers. This hybrid role is based in the Boston area and requires an active TS/SCI security clearance.
You will own or support customer account plans, triage technical issues, and drive cross-functional workflows that ensure reliability and impact of AI solutions for public sector missions. The role blends program leadership, customer relationship building, technical fluency, and contract awareness in a fast-moving, mission-driven environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading innovation by solving undefined technical and operational challenges for public sector customers
- Leveraging technical expertise to create or improve AI/ML solutions from scratch
- Using data and analytics to align internal resources and deliver customer value
- Transitioning AI/ML technologies into working products for government use cases in computer vision and generative AI
- Partnering with engineering, operations, and public sector teams to build tailored AI systems
- Leading cross-functional teams to exceed customer AI/ML objectives
- Managing long-term customer health by identifying and mitigating risks
- Making customer success repeatable and scalable for future government customers
- Collaborating with product development teams on engineering challenges
Required qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI security clearance (mandatory)
- 3+ years in stakeholder management or customer-facing roles
- Technical background in computer science, statistics, or engineering
- Deep understanding of generative AI/ML fundamentals (RAG, evals, agent orchestration)
- Track record of structured, analytics-driven problem-solving
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability to work at a cleared facility in greater Boston 3+ days/week with 25% travel (occasional 50% surge periods)
Nice-to-have qualifications include aerospace manufacturing familiarity (CAD, PLM, configuration management, digital twins), legacy aircraft sustainment or MRO program experience, 10+ years professional experience in technical program management, prior API technology company experience, and Python or other programming language proficiency.
