OpenAI's Industrial Compute organization is building infrastructure for large-scale AI systems globally. The Manufacturing Operations team converts complex hardware designs into reliable production systems, partnering with ODMs, JDMs, contract manufacturers, and suppliers. You will lead manufacturing operations programs for AI servers, racks, networking systems, and infrastructure across OpenAI's hardware supply base in Singapore and the broader APAC region. You own cross-functional execution from new product introduction through production ramp and sustaining operations, coordinating manufacturing partners and internal engineering teams around factory readiness, capacity, material availability, build plans, validation, quality gates, issue resolution, and delivery commitments. Key responsibilities include leading integrated program plans spanning NPI, factory readiness, material availability, tooling, test development, qualification, production ramp, and shipment. You will coordinate across Hardware Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Quality, Supply Chain, Rack Integration, System Enablement, Logistics, Deployment, and Hardware Operations. You'll drive manufacturing readiness reviews, establish clear entry/exit criteria, and partner with suppliers to manage build plans, capacity, and delivery commitments. You will track manufacturing metrics including yield, first-pass yield, cycle time, throughput, defect rates, and on-time delivery. You'll identify and escalate material, capacity, process, quality, and engineering risks, leading cross-functional resolution of manufacturing issues. You'll manage engineering changes, configuration control, and deviation processes, ensuring corrective actions have clear owners, deadlines, and validation plans. You'll coordinate transitions from NPI into sustaining manufacturing with complete documentation and trained teams, partner with deployment teams to ensure systems arrive validated and ready, and build dashboards providing visibility into production status, constraints, quality, and delivery risk. You'll prepare updates for senior stakeholders and develop repeatable manufacturing playbooks supporting increasing volume and a growing global supplier network. Required: 8+ years in technical program management, manufacturing operations, NPI, or hardware operations. Experience leading complex hardware products from development through production ramp and sustaining operations. Direct experience with ODMs, JDMs, contract manufacturers, or factory operations. Technical familiarity with servers, storage, networking, rack-level systems, or complex hardware. Strong understanding of manufacturing readiness, production planning, capacity management, quality gates, and change control. Experience managing cross-functional programs and leading high-severity manufacturing escalations. Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, operations, supply chain, or related field. Preferred: Experience with AI infrastructure, GPU servers, high-performance computing, or data center equipment. Manufacturing experience in Singapore, Southeast Asia, Taiwan, or APAC. Familiarity with FMEA, control plans, RCCA, 8D, statistical process control. Experience with factory test development, hardware validation, or production telemetry.
