Adyen is a global fintech platform providing payments, data, and financial products for enterprises like Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft. The company operates a hardware ecosystem of Android-powered payment terminals, ranging from portable devices to interactive countertop systems.
As Technical Program Manager for Hardware, you will own the end-to-end readiness and launch of new payment terminals and accessories. This is a high-impact role at the intersection of physical product complexity and payments infrastructure. You will coordinate across Product, Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, Partnerships, and Commercial teams to bring devices to market on schedule without compromising quality.
Key responsibilities include:
- Driving the New Terminal Introduction (NTI) program, owning full product readiness from cross-team kickoff through live merchant deployment
- Bridging organizational silos by identifying and managing cross-functional dependencies that individual teams might miss
- Proactively identifying and resolving technical, compliance, and logistical risks before they impact launch timelines
- Continuously refining the NTI process after each launch to improve execution
- Coordinating legacy-system deprecation and modernization efforts with minimal disruption to live environments
- Building and maintaining RAID logs, milestone dashboards, hardware launch blueprints, and cross-team roadmaps
You will be based in Amsterdam (hybrid) and work closely with Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, and Product teams locally, while also collaborating with engineering colleagues in Chicago and Bangalore, and coordinating with global hardware suppliers.
Requirements:
- 5–7 years of experience launching complex physical products at scale across suppliers, supply chains, and multi-stakeholder organizations. Fintech, payments, or hardware tech background is a plus, but proven expertise in physical-product launches is the primary requirement.
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability; comfortable with unexpected challenges and skilled at driving teams toward decisions rather than just documenting dependencies.
- Technical fluency sufficient to work independently, including functional understanding of POS terminal architecture and Terminal Management Systems (or equivalent), enabling you to make informed decisions without specialist input for every call.
- Systems thinking and strong judgment; ability to synthesize dependencies and trade-offs across teams into a unified roadmap and discernment about when to decide versus escalate.
- Data-driven approach to alignment; proven experience building and running RAID logs and program dashboards to keep cross-functional teams synchronized.
