Salary: USD 199,200 - 249,000 / annual
Scale is hiring a Technical Program Manager for its Public Sector Cyber team. You will own end-to-end program delivery for government customers leveraging Scale's AI/ML data and evaluation capabilities for cybersecurity and national security objectives.
In this hybrid role (4 days/week onsite in Columbia, MD area, 25%+ travel), you will lead cross-functional project teams to deliver high-quality datasets and solutions that help customers evaluate and advance AI/ML models for cyber domains—including malicious network traffic analysis, cryptographic systems, adversarial LLM prompts, threat intelligence, and cyber ethics.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing end-to-end creation and delivery of cyber-focused evaluation datasets
- Managing customer relationships from executive to end-user level
- Tracking deployment of Scale software within secure customer environments
- Leading account onboarding and implementation
- Partnering with customer engineering teams to troubleshoot and advocate for product improvements
- Identifying customer pain points and driving solutions with a "whatever-it-takes" mentality
You must have an active Top Secret security clearance with polygraph, 5+ years of cybersecurity experience within or collaborating with government institutions, and deep domain knowledge of cyber topics (network activity, ethical hacking, incident response, security preparedness). A technical degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related field is required. You'll need strong cross-functional influence, excellent communication skills, and proven ability to manage multiple work streams.
Ideal candidates bring 10+ years of cybersecurity experience, 5+ years in program management or customer-facing roles, startup experience, and familiarity with deploying software into secure cloud infrastructure and ML operations.
