OpenAI is seeking a Technical Program Manager to lead end-to-end execution of AI model deployments across strategic cloud partnerships. This role sits at the intersection of OpenAI's internal engineering, infrastructure, product, and go-to-market teams, and external partner organizations, driving the technical strategy and execution required to bring OpenAI models and platform capabilities into partner environments at scale.
You will own integrated technical roadmaps spanning model deployment, product integration, operational readiness, and partner-platform adoption. Key responsibilities include managing launch readiness across cloud partner platforms with readiness checklists, blocker tracking, and go/no-go reviews; serving as the primary technical interface to partner engineering organizations; driving alignment across OpenAI's engineering, infrastructure, product, safety, security, legal, finance, and go-to-market teams; and providing transparent reporting on program status, risks, and decisions to senior leadership.
The ideal candidate brings substantial technical program management leadership experience with complex infrastructure, platform, or large-scale engineering programs. You should have a track record of owning partner-facing programs requiring tight cross-company coordination, clear operating rhythms, and sustained follow-through. Deep understanding of cloud architectures, AI/ML deployment, model serving, and the practical integration challenges of bringing advanced AI systems to production is essential. Direct experience with major cloud or AI platforms, foundation model integration, inference systems, model serving, accelerator-backed infrastructure, or distributed systems is highly valued.
You excel at balancing strategic priorities with rapid, high-quality execution in fast-moving environments. You communicate crisply with engineers, executives, and external partners, creating alignment without direct authority. You thrive in ambiguous, scaling environments, bringing order to complex cross-functional work without losing pace. You exercise strong judgment on risk, sequencing, and the difference between target dates and credible launch plans. Above all, you care about OpenAI's mission of expanding responsible access to advanced AI systems.
This role is based in San Francisco with a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week. OpenAI offers relocation assistance to new employees.
