The company started by solving airspace awareness for drone operations and is expanding into more complex autonomous and physical AI applications. You will own technical project delivery end-to-end: from customer requirements through development, integration, testing, and acceptance. You'll manage schedules, budgets, scope, risks, and dependencies across multiple concurrent projects. Key responsibilities include: - Taking technical projects from requirements through development, integration, testing, and customer acceptance - Managing schedules, delivery budgets, scope, risks, and dependencies across several simultaneous projects - Translating customer needs into clear engineering priorities and acceptance criteria - Identifying opportunities for shared product capabilities across projects rather than custom solutions - Writing technical documentation: requirements baselines, interface control documents, test plans, assurance material, and evaluation reports - Coordinating site surveys, installations, permissions, and flight-test windows - Being present for key deployments and investigating problems in the field - Supporting integrations, demonstrations, and deployments directly - Working closely with the CEO, engineers, customers, and external partners - Establishing structure and dependable delivery without adding unnecessary process This is a practical technical role that does not require full-time software development but demands strong engineering judgment and hands-on involvement. Early success means establishing a clear portfolio delivery plan, confirming responsibilities and acceptance criteria, and identifying technical or site dependencies before they become problems. As you settle in, customers, partners, and engineers should view you as the clear point of ownership, with projects moving toward acceptance with stronger technical evidence, fewer surprises, and less day-to-day coordination sitting with leadership. The role is UK-based with regular travel to customer and project sites for surveys, installations, and trials. Some sites are rural; a driving license is essential. You must be eligible for UK security clearance (existing clearance not required at application). REQUIREMENTS: - Genuine period of experience as a practicing systems engineer, integration engineer, or technical lead - Personal ownership of technical delivery through to customer acceptance - Demonstrated engineering background and comfort drawing on it - Evidence of what you personally produced, how you handled technical trade-offs, and how you verified customer requirements were met - Valid UK driving license (essential for site travel) - Eligibility for UK security clearance - Experience in smaller aviation, defense, drone, robotics, or autonomous-systems business is useful - Knowledge of UAS/BVLOS operations, surveillance, radar, sensor integration, flight trials, safety cases, or regulatory evidence is helpful but not required - Engineering degree is not a separate requirement
