As Technical Product Manager for Developer Experience (DevEx), you will lead a team of engineers and own the developer experience holistically—including internal and external tooling, processes, and AI-driven solutions that remove friction from the path between idea and learning. Your mission is to enable small-startup speed while maintaining the quality bar of a large financial institution.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead a team of engineers with full ownership of feature delivery and AI solution implementation to reduce friction for engineers and product managers
- Define product goals, metrics, and roadmaps based on user (internal engineer/PM) needs and mission impact
- Conduct user research within engineering and product teams to deeply understand their biggest problems
- Write clear design docs and facilitate async, fast-moving decision-making
- Over-communicate context, priorities, and decisions to ensure alignment
- Adjust priorities quickly based on feedback and new learnings
- Solve problems holistically through product features, ops tooling, or process changes
- Research and implement AI solutions to remove engineering and development friction
- Build prototypes to test ideas where possible
- Relentlessly gather feedback through user conversations and data analysis
- Work from first principles to understand engineers' and PMs' biggest productivity blockers
- Directly manage the DevEx team, partnering with a Tech Lead who owns technical standards

The role is fully remote with candidates required to be based in talent hub countries (UK, Spain, USA East Coast, Canada, Kenya, Ghana) or operating markets in Africa (Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire, Burkina Faso). Remote team members are expected to travel to operational markets at least once per year. Wave provides a $1,200 yearly co-working stipend.

REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years of product management experience with hands-on engineering background (shipped production code) OR direct PM ownership of developer experience or developer productivity function
- Proven success overseeing all elements of product development lifecycle: user research, design, implementation, and evaluation
- Fluent English
- Bonus: proven experience rolling out AI-based solutions in larger organizations; professional experience in consumer fintech
