Sent is building unified messaging infrastructure that powers business communication across SMS, WhatsApp, iMessage, and RCS. Following Series A funding, the company is scaling rapidly.
As Product Owner, you will translate product strategy and customer needs into actionable work for the engineering team. You'll own and maintain the product backlog, define requirements and acceptance criteria, coordinate priorities, and ensure the team has clarity to deliver high-quality improvements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with the Head of Product to translate strategy into actionable initiatives
- Owning, maintaining, and continuously prioritizing the product backlog
- Writing clear product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and documentation
- Working closely with engineering and design throughout planning, development, testing, and release
- Ensuring engineers have clear context around requirements, priorities, and expected outcomes
- Participating in sprint planning, backlog refinement, product reviews, and engineering ceremonies
- Gathering and analyzing feedback from customers, internal teams, and stakeholders
- Conducting market and competitor research to support product decisions
- Evaluating and prioritizing feature requests based on customer impact, business value, and technical considerations
- Tracking product initiatives from requirements through development and release
- Validating completed work against requirements before release
- Coordinating across Product, Engineering, Sales, Customer Success, and other teams
- Monitoring product usage, feedback, and metrics to identify improvement opportunities
- Identifying blockers, dependencies, and risks early and working to resolve them
- Maintaining clear product documentation and communicating changes across the organization
The role is ideal for someone who combines strong analytical thinking with excellent communication and execution skills, and enjoys working closely with technical teams in a fast-moving environment.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- 2+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, Business Analyst, or similar product-focused role
- Experience working directly with software engineering teams in an Agile development environment
- Strong understanding of product development processes, including backlog management, requirements gathering, prioritization, testing, and releases
- Ability to translate business and customer needs into clear technical requirements and user stories
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills (C1 or C2 proficiency required)
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced startup environment
- Experience with product management and collaboration tools such as Jira, Linear, Notion, or similar
- Understanding of APIs, SaaS products, developer tools, or technical infrastructure products is a strong advantage
- Experience conducting customer discovery, market research, or competitor analysis is an advantage
