CurbWaste is a venture-backed vertical SaaS company modernizing the waste and recycling industry. With $50M in funding and 150+ customers, they're building the system of record for waste operations management. You'll join a small, high-impact design team as a Technical Product Designer—a product design role with a technical twist. You'll own feature work end-to-end: discovery, concepting, prototyping, and shipping. What sets this apart is your comfort with front-end code (React, component systems), allowing you to partner directly with engineering on design system work and design-to-code workflows. Key responsibilities: - Own product design for one of the company's Pods, partnering with Product and Engineering through the full design cycle - Strengthen and extend the design system alongside another designer, contributing directly to component design and potentially implementation - Collaborate with the Head of Design on design infrastructure initiatives (AI-enabled workflows, design-to-code processes) - Help the Design team take on frontend-adjacent work—polish, small UI fixes, and code-based prototyping that often falls between design and engineering - Participate in customer calls and user research You bring 3+ years as a product/UX designer or design engineer with a portfolio of shipped work (not just concepts). You're comfortable reading and writing basic front-end code (HTML/CSS/JS or React)—enough to prototype, contribute to design systems, and have substantive conversations with engineers. You have strong craft fundamentals in interaction and visual design, with good judgment about when detail matters. You're self-sufficient and thrive in small teams wearing multiple hats. Experience with design systems or component libraries is essential. Nice-to-haves: AI-assisted design/developer tooling, B2B SaaS or vertical software background, user research experience.
