Anthropic is seeking a Technical Deployment Lead to join the Forward Deployed Engineering team, leading the delivery of custom AI agent solutions for enterprise customers in regulated industries. You will own high-value engagements end-to-end, from statement of work through production deployment, collaborating directly with customers to build and deploy agents into their most critical business processes.
Key responsibilities include owning the technical delivery plan for each engagement, structuring SOWs with clear scope, milestones, dependencies, and success criteria. You will lead discovery to map customer workflows, identify constraints, define MVP scope, and shape solution architecture for custom agent deployments. Day-to-day, you'll drive engineering execution across Anthropic and customer teams, keeping progress unblocked and making real-time trade-offs to protect the critical path.
You will own product scoping for field engagements, defining the MVP, authoring requirements documentation, prioritizing the engineering backlog, and managing scope against evolving requirements. Customer relationship ownership is critical—you'll lead executive briefings, manage stakeholder communications across technical and procurement teams, and represent Anthropic's technical credibility with senior business and engineering leaders.
Additional responsibilities include defining impact hypotheses and KPIs for value measurement, codifying reusable delivery assets and playbooks, navigating enterprise and regulatory complexity (security reviews, legal approvals, compliance), managing scope and change, running delivery operations, and traveling to customer sites (25–50% expected) to build relationships and accelerate adoption.
Ideal candidates have led AI/ML engagements or deployments as founders, data scientists, engineers, researchers, or in professional services/consulting roles. You should have delivered AI, ML, or LLM-based agentic solutions to production, understand solution patterns and integration approaches, and have experience in specialized verticals. You can navigate architecture discussions with engineering stakeholders, evaluate technical trade-offs, and pressure-test decisions. A track record delivering complex, high-stakes technical projects for enterprise clients in regulated industries is essential. You possess executive presence, thrive in ambiguity, and bring a builder's mindset.
