As a Technical Account Manager (Technical Advisory), you will be the trusted technical advisor for assigned enterprise accounts, driving adoption and maturity of the Sonar ecosystem. Your primary objectives are to increase account Sonar maturity, reduce churn and downgrade risk, boost account satisfaction, minimize escalations, expand internal Sonar sponsorship, and influence the product roadmap based on customer needs.
Day-to-day responsibilities include: actively listening to and formalizing account technical pain points and adoption barriers; developing and executing plans to overcome these obstacles; reporting product gaps internally and advocating for resolution; evangelizing Sonar's code quality and security methodology to customers; assisting customer sponsors in promoting the Sonar ecosystem; keeping accounts informed of roadmap developments and collecting feedback; recruiting development teams not yet using Sonar; optimizing usage for teams underutilizing the platform; positioning Sonar favorably against competing solutions; educating developers and managers on static code analysis value; ensuring technical deployments align with account size and criticality; running Quarterly Business Reviews with sales representatives; executing deployment audits and driving remediation; contributing to account management and technical strategy plans; maintaining current knowledge of account technical status and opportunities; and staying updated on Sonar product developments.
The role is based in San Mateo, CA with an in-office culture requiring presence on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Candidates must be genuinely based in the location; relocation support is available for the right candidate.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 5 years of practical experience in software development or DevOps engineering
- Minimum 5 years of experience in pre- or post-sales customer-facing activities
- High listening skills with ability to formalize and abstract customer/partner input
- Excellent presentation skills with strong written and verbal communication
- Proven ability to work in teams, give and receive feedback, and share knowledge
- Attention to detail

- Autonomy to run activities and plans with limited supervision
- Must be eligible to work in the US (visa sponsorship not currently supported)
