Aiven is seeking a Technical Account Manager (OEM) to serve as a customer-centric technical professional focused on the company's largest enterprise customers. You will act as a single point of contact and customer advocate, providing direct access to Aiven's Support, Engineering, Product Management, Marketing, and Executive teams. In this role, you will build and maintain successful relationships throughout the entire customer journey, developing deep technical understanding of customers' business priorities, operational models, cloud architecture, and technical initiatives. You will serve as an operational advisor, maintaining awareness of customer operations to assist with planning and risk management, particularly around deployments. Key responsibilities include acting as a conduit between customers and Aiven's internal teams (Sales, Support, Engineering, Product Management) to represent customer interests and advocate for their needs. You will conduct regular operational reviews covering incidents, field advisories, security vulnerabilities, and root-cause analysis. Additionally, you will participate in sales account planning to support account penetration and pipeline growth strategies. The role requires travel up to 10% of the time to meet with customers. Aiven is a global team of over 400 people working to push the boundaries of open-source technology and multi-cloud solutions. The company provides a cloud data platform that makes open-source databases, search, streaming, and application infrastructure easily accessible. REQUIREMENTS: - Deep conceptual and hands-on understanding of Apache Kafka and at least one of: PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, or OpenSearch - Proven experience in technology sales, pre-sales, or technical consulting - Fluency in one or more programming languages (Java, Python, Go, or Ruby) - Knowledge of public clouds (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure) - Experience with Linux operating systems, networking basics (DNS, VPC), and relational databases - Excellent presentation and problem-solving skills with ability to articulate technical requirements to customers and internal Product teams - Ability to manage multiple projects, determine urgency, and execute detailed action plans - Nice to have: Previous CRM experience and migration experience (e.g., Oracle to PostgreSQL)
