Metriport is building the infrastructure layer for US healthcare by solving medical data exchange—connecting thousands of legacy healthcare systems and transforming raw, unusable data into clean, actionable formats for care teams. The company has raised $28.4M from top-tier VCs (Matrix, ARTIS, Y Combinator), achieved product-market fit with multi-million dollar ARR, and serves 100+ customers including Amazon One Medical, Circle Medical, Color Health, and Strive Health. As Technical Account Manager, you will be the technical bridge between Metriport's production customers and product team, ensuring customers extract maximum value from the platform while building trust that drives expansion. This is not a traditional account management role—you are technically fluent, spot customer needs with ease, and can earn immediate respect from customers' engineering, clinical, and executive teams. You will pair deep product knowledge with intimate understanding of customer needs to propose solutions and expansion opportunities. You'll be empowered to create and implement new Customer Success processes, automated monitoring systems, and customer touchpoints. Key responsibilities include: - Owning customer health and retention metrics for production accounts - Identifying and unlocking expansion opportunities by ensuring full product utilization and measurable ROI - Monitoring customer usage patterns to identify underutilized features that could drive significant value - Building cadenced and ad hoc customer engagement efforts - Working closely with Chief of Staff, Founding Engineer, and Customer Success team to elevate account management efforts The company culture emphasizes entrepreneurial mindset, high ownership, and bias toward speed without cutting corners. The team is small, high-output, mostly former founders and YC alumni, operating with real autonomy and minimal bureaucracy. Leaders work in-office six days per week, and the team is generally expected to be available six days per week—not for hours counting, but because there's always more to do when revolutionizing healthcare delivery. REQUIREMENTS: - 7+ years in customer-facing technical roles (Solutions Architect, Solutions Engineer, or similar) with 4+ years at a single company - Experience in formal or informal Technical Sales roles - Technical fluency: comfortable reading API documentation and translating technical concepts between technical and non-technical stakeholders - Experience at both early-stage startups and later-stage companies (Series D or larger) that have scaled Customer Success - Expert at managing complex enterprise deals over extended periods and increasing customer usage - Thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and drive projects to completion without a playbook - Based in San Francisco or willing to relocate; team prioritizes in-person collaboration - Low ego, high ownership mindset - Minimal travel expected; flexibility to support customer needs BONUS: - Expert-level domain knowledge in Healthcare IT or Healthtech, including technical standards (FHIR, HL7) - Engineering background: production code experience, REST APIs, webhooks, or prior software engineering role
