As Team Lead Training Academy at FlixTrain, you will lead the training academy's instructor team and report to the Head of Academy. You are responsible for ensuring that locomotive driver training (Triebfahrzeugführer-Ausbildung) is conducted to the highest quality standards, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency in accordance with §14 TfV.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Personnel Management: You will manage a team of 6 instructors (theory, practical, language, §14d TfV) and oversee employee conversations, performance evaluations, and onboarding. You maintain licenses and qualifications, identify training needs within the team, and ensure their implementation.
Quality Oversight & Observation: You conduct regular classroom and practical observations, analyze results, and implement concrete improvement measures. You provide technical support to the team and serve as an escalation point for quality issues.
Training Organization per §14 TfV: You hold overall responsibility for training organization (AO), ensuring its currency and EBA compliance. You maintain all relevant training documentation including plans, curricula, and records. You coordinate regularly with the examination organization leadership and ensure compliance with §7 TfV requirements.
Quality Assurance & Compliance: You ensure adherence to and documentation of IMS, DIN ISO 29993, and 21001 standards. You support internal and external audits (e.g., EBA and certification bodies). You actively drive the development of training content in close collaboration with the Training Development department.
Supplier Management: You select external education service providers, manage them, and control their quality, including conducting market inquiries and tenders. You ensure that external partners comply with all regulatory requirements per TfV and EBA.

Requirements:
- Completed apprenticeship as a locomotive driver (Triebfahrzeugführer)
- Trainer qualification per §14 TfV
- Thorough knowledge of relevant regulations (TfV, EBA)
- Experience in team leadership or coordination in a training environment; structured and independent work style
- Experience selecting and managing external service providers; understanding of contractual and quality requirements
- Knowledge of DIN ISO 29993, 21001, and ISO 9001:2015 (advantageous)
- Strong communication skills, reliability, willingness to travel
- Cooperative, appreciative leadership style
