Stay22 is seeking a Team Lead for Design to lead a growing design team in Montreal. You will manage three Product Designers and one UX Researcher, fostering a culture of autonomy, curiosity, and continuous improvement while delivering intuitive, elegant, and efficient user experiences across the platform.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, mentoring, and developing your design team while maintaining high standards of autonomy and growth
- Maintaining and evolving Stay22's design principles, standards, and design system to ensure adoption across teams
- Directing design work on major product initiatives from discovery through delivery, collaborating closely with Product, Engineering, and Leadership
- Contributing to long-term product vision and Hub architecture while balancing short-term priorities
- Promoting the use of AI tools, skills, and agents in the design process to improve efficiency and accelerate delivery
- Integrating both qualitative and quantitative data into design decisions, from user research to product analytics
- Actively monitoring competition and market trends to inform design and prioritization decisions
- Continuously elevating the quality of user experience, design thinking, and product strategy within the team
Required experience:
- 10+ years in product design with at least 3 years in a leadership or Team Lead role
- Strong expertise in UX, UI, interaction design, and information architecture with proficiency in modern design tools
- Experience designing, maintaining, and evolving design systems
- Genuine enthusiasm for AI tools and agents applied to design
- Experience managing or mentoring designers; collaboration with UX Researchers is a plus
- Ability to combine qualitative and quantitative data for design decisions
- Strategic vision balancing short-term execution with long-term product evolution
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and communication skills
- Strong ownership mentality and comfort with ambiguity in a fast-moving environment
