BIT (formerly Matrixport) is a global digital asset financial services and infrastructure group headquartered in Singapore. The company manages over $7 billion in assets and facilitates $7+ billion in monthly trading volume, offering custody, trading, asset management, liquidity solutions, and tokenized real-world assets to institutional and professional investors. BIT maintains regulated operations across Singapore, Hong Kong, Switzerland, the UK, the US, and Bhutan. The Tax Manager/Director will own tax compliance and strategy across the Group's multi-jurisdictional operations in Asia (Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Thailand), Europe, and select offshore jurisdictions. This is a leadership role responsible for corporate income tax, indirect tax (GST/VAT/SST), withholding tax, and transfer pricing across a complex, crypto-native financial services organization. Key responsibilities include: managing tax compliance and filings across all jurisdictions; developing and maintaining the Group's tax risk register, standards, and governance documentation; assessing uncertain tax positions for financial reporting; managing transfer pricing matters including documentation and audit defense; analyzing withholding tax exposure on cross-border intercompany transactions; drafting tax positions and guidance for business stakeholders; conducting internal tax training; liaising with internal teams and external advisers (Big 4 firms); and providing tax input on new business setup, process improvements, and corporate transactions. The ideal candidate brings 10–12 years of tax experience with strong financial services background, deep technical expertise in direct tax, indirect tax, and transfer pricing across multiple jurisdictions and complex group structures. International transfer pricing experience, tax governance framework development, and familiarity with cross-border information reporting (FATCA/CRS/CARF) are highly valued. The role requires excellent communication skills to translate technical positions into practical guidance, strong analytical ability, comfort with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment, and collaborative teamwork. Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or related field with professional accreditation (e.g., ATA by SCTP) required.
