Ankar is building R&D infrastructure and tools for the AI era, helping companies manage intellectual property and innovation at scale. The company has raised $24M+ from top-tier VCs (Atomico, Index Ventures) and is already working with Fortune 500 companies like L'Oréal and global law firms. As Talent Partner, you'll own two equally important pillars: (1) Talent Pipeline Building (50%) — identifying and building relationships with top-tier candidates in engineering, product, GTM, and sales before roles open. You'll source through traditional channels (LinkedIn Recruiter, AI tools) and non-traditional tactics (events, customer networks, communities), creating "talent communities" for hard-to-fill specializations and moving strategic candidates through awareness → interest → readiness. (2) End-to-End Hiring Execution (50%) — owning the complete candidate journey for multiple active searches simultaneously: sourcing, screening, interview coordination, candidate prep, offer positioning, and close. You'll design assessment frameworks that predict cultural fit (extreme ownership, zero-to-one mentality, intellectual humility) and create candidate experiences that reflect Ankar's contrarian, first-principles culture. You'll embed with teams to understand nuanced hiring requirements, move with urgency, and operate with high autonomy. The role requires 5+ years building hiring systems in high-growth environments, demonstrated ability to hire for technical/commercial/specialized roles where you learned the domain from scratch, and a track record in ambiguous, zero-to-one contexts (early-stage startups, new market expansions, or building new functions). Ankar's culture is contrarian (first-principles thinking), creative (building with taste), and competitive (moving with urgency, high bar). The company operates with 3 days/week in-office (Shoreditch) and flexibility around results. This role is not for you if you need highly structured environments, predefined playbooks, long planning cycles, or prefer managing work over doing it.
