Snyk is seeking an experienced Talent Business Partner Director to serve as the strategic people partner to the global R&D organization, including engineering, product, and design teams. This role operates as an individual contributor with the opportunity to build and lead a team as the organization grows. Key responsibilities include acting as a strategic thought partner to R&D senior leadership (VP and C-level) on organizational design, workforce planning, and people strategy aligned with product and engineering roadmaps. You will coach and develop engineering and product managers at all levels on team building, performance management, and difficult conversations. You'll partner on organizational design and team scaling, bringing expertise on how technical organizations should be structured for speed and cohesion. The role involves leading complex employee relations matters within R&D, exercising sound judgment on legal and regulatory considerations across multiple regions (US, UK, Israel, Romania, and beyond). You'll use people data and workforce analytics to identify trends in attrition, engagement, and promotion velocity, translating insights into concrete recommendations for leadership. You'll drive R&D's participation in company-wide talent programs including calibration, compensation reviews, and performance cycles, adapted for a technical, global workforce. Additional responsibilities include identifying and developing high-potential talent, partnering with Talent Acquisition on critical technical hiring and succession planning, and collaborating cross-functionally with Total Rewards, Learning & Growth, and People Operations. Required qualifications: 10+ years of progressive HR/People experience, including several years supporting Engineering, Product, R&D, or technical organizations in high-growth software or security companies. You must have a track record of partnering directly with senior technical leaders as a trusted advisor. Strong experience with organizational design and scaling is essential, with demonstrated involvement in restructuring initiatives. You need sound judgment on sensitive employee relations matters and working knowledge of employment practices across multiple countries. You should have an analytical mindset, comfortable extracting insights from people data to influence decisions. The ability to operate at multiple levels simultaneously—from VP-level strategic advice to coaching first-time managers—is critical. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with judgment about message delivery are required. Experience building or scaling people programs in fast-paced, ambiguous environments is essential. Desirable qualifications include mentoring junior colleagues, SHRM/HRCI/CIPD certification, and experience implementing AI into daily work.
