Salary: USD 150,000 - 175,000 / annual

Alto Neuroscience is seeking a Talent Acquisition Manager to lead full-lifecycle recruiting and establish core talent acquisition processes for an emerging biotechnology company focused on precision psychiatry and personalized neuroscience-based therapeutics. Reporting to the Head of HR, this role balances strategic planning with hands-on candidate sourcing across all business functions. Key Responsibilities: Recruitment Strategy, Planning & Budgeting: Partner with the Head of HR and Finance on headcount forecasting, hiring plans, and TA budgeting. Work closely with HR Operations to benchmark salary data and structure competitive offers. Establish TA processes, policies, and operational best practices across the organization. Direct and manage external search firms, contingent agencies, and outside recruiters to optimize cost and candidate quality. Full-Lifecycle Sourcing & Recruiting: Actively source and recruit for key roles across all functions, including R&D, Clinical, GTM, Sales, Marketing, IT, Manufacturing, Operations, Legal, Quality, HR, and Finance. Manage full-cycle hiring from individual contributor levels up to executive hires, covering both onsite and remote roles. Execute hiring plans in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining a strong talent pipeline. Build employer branding initiatives and employee referral programs to drive direct candidate sourcing. Operations, Compliance & Candidate Assessment: Use ATS data and recruiting metrics to track hiring progress, optimize processes, and report on TA performance. Conduct structured interviews using behavioral, panel, competency, and AI-driven assessment techniques. Support diversity and inclusion hiring initiatives across all stages of the recruitment pipeline. Maintain compliance with California state laws, federal employment standards, and EEOC guidelines. Supervisory Responsibilities: May directly supervise and lead a team of internal or external recruiters, sourcers, and TA coordinators based on organizational scaling needs. Oversee external agency partners and outside recruiters. May hire and supervise internal sourcers, recruiters, or TA coordinators as hiring needs grow. Location: Mountain View, CA or Remote, USA. Light travel required. Requirements: Required: - Proven track record as a Senior Talent Acquisition Partner or Lead Recruiter in the Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Healthcare, or Technology sectors - Extensive experience conducting full-lifecycle recruitment across nationwide markets, covering individual contributors through executive-level searches - Demonstrated ability to establish hiring forecasting, track TA metrics, and leverage data to guide talent decisions with executive stakeholders - Hands-on expertise with ATS implementation, modern sourcing tools, vendor negotiation, and candidate evaluation methodologies - Deep knowledge of federal and California state employment laws, EEOC guidelines, and workplace compliance standards - Strong familiarity with therapeutic and clinical domains (e.g., oncology, orthopedics, infectious disease, rare disease, cardiology) - Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience) - 8+ years of full-lifecycle talent acquisition experience within fast-growing technology, biotech, or healthcare organizations Bonus Skills/Abilities: - Experience managing both direct hire strategies and contingent/contractor workforce programs - Proven ability to build and lead scalable teams of recruiters, sourcers, and TA coordinators - Strong background in employer branding campaigns and employee referral program design - Prior experience in HR Business Partner (HRBP) or HR Operations roles
