Dominion Dynamics is seeking a Systems Engineer to own the mission-system architecture for Scout, an autonomous air platform designed for contested, communications-degraded environments at the edge of Arctic and NORAD airspace. This is a full-lifecycle systems engineering role bridging operator needs and engineering execution.
You will own the mission-system requirements baseline, eliciting and tracing requirements from Concept of Operations (CONOPS) through Key Performance Parameters (KPPs) using ISO/IEC/IEEE 29148 standards. You'll architect the mission system across sensors (radar, EO/IR, EW), tactical datalinks, autonomy, navigation, and effects, defining functional, logical, and physical decomposition with Interface Control Documents (ICDs) that maintain coherence.
Key responsibilities include running trade studies on SWaP-C (Size, Weight, Power, Cost), timing, latency, link budget, and power allocation; driving verification and validation by defining methods, building verification matrices, and closing the loop from requirement to demonstrated capability in simulation and flight test; authoring vendor-facing Specification Requirements Documents (SRDs) for Canadian suppliers and technically evaluating responses; and maintaining configuration and change control across the program baseline.
You must bring deep systems engineering expertise across the full lifecycle (ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288), mission-systems domain knowledge spanning sensors, tactical datalinks, mission computing, and effects, and hands-on requirements engineering with traceability in tools or registers. Proficiency with MBSE (SysML), avionics data bus standards (MIL-STD-1553, MIL-STD-1760, ARINC 429/664), and the judgment to translate mission intent into verifiable architecture is essential.
Nice-to-have qualifications include operational or tactical background (aircrew, weapons, tactics, or operational analysis), tactical datalink expertise (Link-16), domain knowledge in radar/EW/EO/IR/comms/navigation/weapons systems, airworthiness and safety assurance (ARP4754A), familiarity with Canadian/US/European airworthiness standards, architecture frameworks (DNDAF, DODAF/NAF), and flight-test exposure. No defence background is required.
You'll work in a high-trust, fast-moving environment with short feedback loops, direct operator engagement, and systems already fielded with the Canadian Armed Forces. The role offers equity, responsibility, and direct access to leadership.
