Lumilens is building photonics infrastructure for AI supercomputing, developing chip-to-chip optical interconnects and scalable photonic engines. The company is Series B-funded and led by veterans from transformative technology companies. This role is responsible for the complete lifecycle management of wafer-level testing equipment across Lumilens' manufacturing operations. You will serve as the equipment owner and subject matter expert, driving equipment selection, installation, qualification, troubleshooting, maintenance, and continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include: - Lead evaluation, selection, procurement, installation, and qualification of wafer-level testing equipment and infrastructure - Serve as SME for wafer probers, wafer handling systems, test interfaces, probe cards, handlers, and associated automation systems - Develop and execute comprehensive equipment qualification plans (IQ, OQ, PQ, manufacturing readiness) - Drive high equipment availability and utilization by identifying constraints and minimizing unscheduled downtime - Establish and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve reliability and reduce downtime - Optimize equipment performance and capability to support production throughput and manufacturing ramp - Work closely with WLT Operations, Process Engineering, Quality, and Industrial Engineering teams - Establish and monitor key performance metrics (uptime, availability, utilization, MTBF, MTTR) - Manage equipment vendors and OSAT suppliers for upgrades, retrofits, and spare parts inventory - Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure successful equipment deployment and stable production execution Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or related field. Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience operating, troubleshooting, qualifying, and maintaining semiconductor wafer-level testing equipment. Strong understanding of wafer probing, wafer handling, test interfaces, probe cards, and automated test systems. Experience with equipment troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, preventive maintenance, and corrective action. Familiarity with equipment performance metrics and cross-functional project management. Preferred: Experience with semiconductor wafer fabs, OSATs, wafer-level test houses, or equipment suppliers. Background in photonics, silicon photonics, optical testing, or advanced semiconductor packaging.
