Elliptic is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead two interconnected functions: DevOps and AI Platform. You will manage approximately twelve engineers across both teams, owning hiring, levelling, coaching, and career development.
On the DevOps side, you will set strategy and operating model for release safety, developer experience, observability, cost management, and scalability of a latency-sensitive screening platform that processes over a billion dollars in crypto transactions weekly. You will own infrastructure cost, scalability, and efficiency with a FinOps mindset as transaction volume grows.
On the AI Platform side, you will lead the centre of excellence for building AI agents at Elliptic. This includes owning shared frameworks, patterns, MCP management, and evaluation capabilities that product teams depend on. You will act as a two-way conduit: disseminating best practices to product teams while channeling their feedback back to improve central approaches.
Key responsibilities include: leading and developing people across both functions; setting DevOps strategy around platform reliability and scalability; leading AI Platform as a centre of excellence; partnering with technical leads on direction-setting; championing SRE and reliability practices across the business; and supporting infrastructure maturity for certifications like ISO 27001 and SOC2.
In your first six months, you will build trust across functions, develop a clear picture of platform reliability and cost posture, shape and execute a people and hiring strategy, operate effectively as a centre-of-excellence conduit, and establish a clear point of view on AI SDLC.
You should lead through people, measure success by team growth and impact, ask sharp questions and facilitate decisions without needing to be the hands-on expert, demonstrate genuine curiosity about AI and agents, and care deeply about the mission of keeping financial institutions safe from crypto crime.
