Anduril Industries is hiring a Systems Engineer to support the Air Defense team's counter-UAS portfolio for the U.S. Army. You will own a defined technical scope within deployable air defense systems that integrate Anduril's Pulsar, Wisp, and other sensors, effectors, and communications platforms. Your responsibilities span the full lifecycle from requirements and design through integration, validation, field deployment, and sustainment. Key responsibilities include: **Requirements & Verification**: Write and maintain requirements and verification records for your technical scope, tie each requirement to a test, and produce formal design review documentation. Present results in customer and program reviews. **Integration & Testing**: Configure and integrate hardware before shipment, run burn-in and calibration at the range, and maintain interface documentation to match actual hardware behavior. **Field Enablement**: Write site requirements, setup and calibration procedures, checklists, and training material that field teams and operators execute independently. Maintain fielded systems through software updates and configuration tracking to ensure deployed systems match validated baselines. **Field Support**: Root-cause issues from logs and data, lead technical recovery for your scope, and travel to deployment sites when hands-on troubleshooting is needed. Feed learnings back to product teams. The role is hands-on and technical. You will spend significant time with hardware, configuring systems, running tests, diagnosing problems from field data, and traveling to sites as needed. Much of the work focuses on creating procedures and configurations robust enough to work without an engineer present. **Requirements**: - Engineering, science, or other technical degree, or equivalent practical experience - 4+ years of systems engineering or related engineering experience on hardware and software systems - Ownership of a subsystem, interface, or other defined technical scope through verification and fielding, with accountability for actual performance, not just design artifacts - Ability to explain the architecture and interfaces of a subsystem you owned, with a record of keeping interface documentation consistent with observed behavior - Ability to turn a defined scope into clear requirements and verification steps, then plan and run tests to demonstrate it works - Experience debugging on real hardware and real data, including root-causing field issues with limited supervision - Experience presenting results to a technical working group or customer, and producing your portion of a formal design review - Willingness to travel up to 25% on average, with periods up to 50% during test events and deployments - Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance **Preferred Qualifications**: - Active U.S. Secret security clearance - Experience with deployable or expeditionary systems that are set up, calibrated, and torn down in the field - Experience writing procedures, checklists, or training material that operators or technicians executed successfully without your presence - Depth in radar, passive RF detection, electro-optical and infrared sensors, tactical radios and networking, or command and control software - Experience sustaining equipment held in reserve or storage, including preventive maintenance, software currency, and battery health - Experience developing and executing the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process to achieve and maintain an Authority to Operate (ATO) for a fielded system - Experience delivering counter-UAS, air defense, or force protection capability to a U.S. Army customer - Comfort on the Linux command line and with Python for parsing and visualizing test data - Prior military service, particularly in Army air defense or an expeditionary unit
