Verkada is a rapidly scaling physical AI platform company with 30,000+ customers (including 100+ Fortune 500 companies), a $5.8B valuation, and over $1 billion in annualized bookings. The company provides integrated, privacy-sensitive AI-powered solutions for video security, access control, air quality sensors, alarms, intercoms, and visitor management, deployed across 170+ countries.
You will join a small, dynamic team operating as a startup within the larger organization, focused on building cloud-managed access control systems. Access Control is Verkada's second major product line, allowing users to manage doors, schedules, and user credentials from laptops or phones. The team has significant ownership and autonomy.
In this role, you will work alongside firmware, backend, and frontend engineers to develop and scale the access control product. You'll be responsible for delivering best-in-class products and experiences, taking less-than-fully-fleshed-out product ideas and driving them to completion. You'll tackle large, complex problems with no clear answers, own major technical systems, and contribute to a culture of learning and growth.
The role requires mastery of modern frontend development, strong architectural thinking, and an eye for design and product polish. You'll work on custom components, custom UI, cross-browser support, and practical debugging. You must be willing to work onsite five days per week in San Mateo.

- Eye for design, product details, and polish
- Understanding of HTTP and practical debugging techniques
- Working knowledge of at least one server-side framework and one database system
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related Engineering field
- Must be willing and able to work onsite five days per week
