Kraken, one of the world's longest-standing crypto platforms with over 10 million users, is seeking a Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) Analyst to join its Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU). The FIU plays a critical role in protecting Kraken from financial crime by detecting, investigating, and reporting suspicious activity related to money laundering and terrorist financing.
In this role, you will be responsible for creating and filing Suspicious Activity Reports with multiple regulatory authorities following case investigations by FIU Investigators. Key responsibilities include:
- Drafting and submitting SARs to relevant regional regulatory authorities with accuracy and timeliness
- Managing assigned caseloads to ensure completion within regulatory and internal SLAs and filing deadlines
- Prioritizing multiple competing priorities while maintaining high production standards
- Utilizing external regulatory portals and internal tools (Slack, Adobe Acrobat, Admin systems) to file reports
- Following defined standard operating procedures (SOPs) and compliance protocols
- Actively developing knowledge of criminal methods, AML typologies, and crypto crime trends
- Participating in compliance projects and team meetings
- Staying current with industry standards and regulatory developments in BSA/AML and crypto compliance
You should have a minimum of two years of experience in financial services, ideally in crypto and/or compliance roles. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong ability to manage competing priorities and high-volume workloads while consistently meeting regulatory deadlines. You must have excellent attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work within defined operational processes. CAMS certification, blockchain investigations accreditation, foreign language proficiency, and willingness to work occasional weekends/shifts are valued additions. This is a production-oriented role requiring ownership, proactivity, and consistent delivery in a fast-paced environment.
