The Nuclear Company, a Series A AI-enabled startup pioneering fleet-scale nuclear reactor deployment, seeks a Supplier & Partner Quality Lead to build and operate the supplier qualification, audit, and surveillance framework from the ground up. This is a build-from-scratch role with direct influence on how quality flows through the entire supply chain of a fleet-scale nuclear deployment model.
The role owns supplier and partner quality risk before it becomes execution risk—identified as the single largest near-term external risk to the company's deployment platform. Key responsibilities include:
• Build and administer the supplier qualification, audit, and surveillance framework, graded to safety significance, and manage the approved-supplier process.
• Author standard supplier quality clauses and quality flow-downs for procurements and subcontracts in collaboration with Procurement and Legal/Contracts teams.
• Coordinate commercial-grade dedication (CGD, EPRI methodology) and 10 CFR Part 21 applicability determinations with Engineering safety classification and Procurement.
• Plan and lead supplier audits and surveillances as an NQA-1 Lead Auditor; document findings with objective evidence and manage corrective actions to closure.
• Define partner and joint-venture quality interfaces and flow-downs where the company holds authorized support or oversight roles.
• Map and risk-rank the supplier base; establish supplier performance monitoring, trending, and corrective-action follow-up systems.
• Support customer and partner audit readiness for the supplier-assurance program.
The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of nuclear supplier quality or procurement quality experience, including hands-on leadership of supplier audits. Required expertise includes commercial-grade dedication (EPRI methodology), 10 CFR Part 21 compliance, and ASME NQA-1 supplier-audit experience. Candidates should be qualified or immediately qualifiable as NQA-1 Lead Auditors. A bachelor's degree in engineering or a technical discipline is required. The role involves approximately 25–40% travel for supplier audits and surveillance activities. The company operates with an AI-first mindset and expects all employees to leverage AI, technology, and the Nuclear Operating System (NOS) to improve quality, speed, and impact.
