Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Supervisor for its Electrical Engineering Lab in Costa Mesa. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with team leadership in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.
You will directly supervise a team of 5–6 electrical engineering technicians, providing day-to-day direction, conducting performance reviews, and fostering career development. You'll set team culture, communicate priorities and safety expectations, and interface with cross-functional peers on goals and escalations.
Beyond management, you'll take an active hands-on role alongside your team. Responsibilities include building and modifying complex cable and wire harness assemblies (crimping, soldering, routing per schematics), performing precision PCB rework and assembly (SMT and through-hole soldering, component replacement, conformal coating), and executing comprehensive test plans using oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters, and signal generators. You'll troubleshoot and diagnose electronic failures down to the component level, document test data and rework actions, and support engineering analysis.
Operationally, you'll own shift-level execution for safety, quality, cost, and delivery. You'll drive Tier 1 and Tier 2 reporting, set build and test targets, manage direct-labor performance, assist in lab buildup and equipment planning, and maintain the lab environment to clean and safe standards, including EHS and quality compliance.
Required: 5+ years hands-on experience in electronics/power systems testing, assembly, and rework in R&D or production; formal or informal people-leadership experience; strong technical literacy in schematics, assembly drawings, and datasheets; proficiency in fine-pitch SMT and through-hole soldering (IPC J-STD-001); experience building complex cable and wire harness assemblies (IPC-620); ability to diagnose electronic failures using standard test equipment; self-organization and ability to work on prototypes with minimal documentation; understanding of product development lifecycles, reliability, and compliance testing.
