Translucent is an AI-native financial platform built exclusively for healthcare providers. The company was founded in 2024 and is backed by GV, NEA, FPV, and Virtue. Healthcare providers operate on razor-thin 2–5% margins while driving $2.5 trillion in annual medical expenditures, yet their finance teams spend excessive time on manual data work rather than strategic decision-making. Translucent deploys AI agents that run 24/7 to automate financial workflows and is already used by healthcare organizations managing over $5 billion in combined revenue.
As Subject Matter Expert for Managed Care & Payor Contracting, you will be the domain authority shaping how the product's AI agents read contract language, model reimbursement expectations, and monitor payor behavior. You'll work at the intersection of healthcare finance, contracting expertise, and AI product development.
Key responsibilities include: developing subject matter expertise in managed care contracting and payor strategy to support AI product development; collaborating with engineering, product, and design teams to define AI systems for contracting workflows; building proprietary benchmarks and datasets to evaluate AI agents on real-world tasks such as contract clause extraction, reimbursement modeling, payor policy monitoring, value-based contract reconciliation, and renewal scenario analysis; serving as the company's insight source on managed care policy changes; and partnering with customer delivery teams to translate complex contractual requirements into technical solutions.
You bring 7+ years in managed care contracting, payor strategy, network management, or equivalent roles, with exposure to rate modeling, term negotiation, and payor performance monitoring. You have strong proficiency with contract modeling tools (Epic contracts, nThrive, Strata) and deep knowledge of Medicare fee-schedule mechanics (PFS, OPPS, IPPS). You can convert workflows into structured data and logic for algorithms, deliver high-quality analyses under tight deadlines, and communicate effectively across contracting, legal, product, and engineering teams. You're intellectually curious about AI/ML and willing to do detailed analytical work—reading contracts, grading model outputs, and reconciling claim-level data to validate AI performance.
Nice-to-have qualifications include high-growth startup experience, exposure to both provider and payor sides, familiarity with SQL/Python, and prior AI/ML or prompt engineering experience.
