OpenAI's Capital Markets team is seeking a Structured Finance Senior Associate to serve as a technical execution engine for capital markets operations supporting the company's expanding global AI infrastructure platform and long-term investment strategy. You will own financial models, analysis, diligence, process management, and key execution workstreams for standardized and complex financings. This is not a junior role—you'll work directly with senior leaders, banks, investors, counsel, and advisors with minimal review layers. You must be highly capable in financial details, perform well under transaction intensity, and help build financing processes for a rapidly scaling infrastructure platform. Key responsibilities include: translating financing objectives into clear analyses and recommendations; supporting senior transactors on complex transactions including structuring, documentation, diligence, and negotiation; leading analysis and execution workstreams for financing transactions; owning transaction models (debt sizing, cash-flow waterfalls, sensitivities, covenant analysis); working directly with internal stakeholders and external counterparties; reviewing transaction documentation for accuracy; managing high-volume, detail-intensive workstreams in a lean team; and developing repeatable tools and processes as the capital markets function scales. Required qualifications: 4–6 years of directly relevant experience in project finance, structured finance, infrastructure finance, private equity, or related field; deep financial modeling capability; meaningful involvement in financings that reached close; experience at a bank, PE firm, infrastructure investment firm, data center developer, or specialist advisory firm; ability to own workstreams independently; strong attention to detail; maturity to interact with senior stakeholders and external counterparties; training under a well-regarded infrastructure or project finance group; exposure to multiple financing products or capital sources. Preferred: experience in data centers, digital infrastructure, power, energy transition, or capital-intensive infrastructure sectors; strong learning velocity; willingness to work without rigid role boundaries; willingness to work from San Francisco.
