You will join the solution engineering team as a Strategic Solutions Engineer, serving as a trusted technical advisor for strategic customers with complex CNC machining, casting, and sheet metal fabrication needs. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, manufacturing, customer advisory, and commercial execution, supporting customers as they scale from prototype into production.
Key responsibilities include:
**Customer & Program Support:** Serve as a technical guide for strategic customers, lead technical scoping discussions translating requirements into manufacturable solutions, and support prototype-to-production transitions while anticipating manufacturing risks early.
**DFM/DFA Expertise:** Perform detailed design-for-manufacturability and design-for-assembly reviews for CNC-machined and sheet metal components. Evaluate part geometry, tolerances, GD&T, material selection, and finish requirements. Provide cost optimization recommendations based on process selection, feature simplification, and volume scaling. Support quoting efforts with manufacturing-informed feasibility and risk assessment.
**Assembly & System-Level Support:** Evaluate mechanical assemblies including part-to-part fit, stack-ups, tolerance interactions, fastener selection, joint design, assembly sequencing, and installation considerations. Help customers identify risks related to assembly and serviceability.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience in CNC machining, casting, sheet metal fabrication, and CAD, with strong technical communication skills and comfort operating in ambiguous, high-stakes environments. You'll guide customers through DFM/DFA, production readiness, operational support, cost optimization, and mechanical assembly considerations.
