Runlayer is building the enterprise platform for AI Agents, MCPs, and Skills with built-in security, governance, and observability. The company recently raised $30M Series A (Felicis, Khosla Ventures) and is trusted by Gusto, Instacart, Opendoor, dbt Labs, and Decagon. This is the company's first dedicated finance hire.
You will own strategic finance end-to-end, building the financial operating model from the ground up. Responsibilities include establishing and running monthly metrics reporting with live dashboards tracking ARR, pipeline, burn, and sales productivity. You'll own the finance tech stack (QuickBooks, Ramp, banking partners, billing system) and manage integrations across these systems.
You will manage tax compliance, revenue recognition, and financial reporting requirements. You'll lead the monthly accounting close in partnership with the accounting team and manage the full financial compliance function. On the commercial side, you'll partner with sales leadership on compensation plans, quota design, and capacity planning models. You'll also prepare board materials and support fundraising diligence.
The ideal candidate has 2+ years in investment banking or private equity, followed by 3+ years in strategic finance or FP&A at a high-growth startup. You should have experience at an enterprise sales company, ideally with infrastructure or usage-based business models. Strong driver-based modeling skills are essential—models should be easy to audit and built for others to use. You must be comfortable building and owning the entire finance function and have managed accounting closes. AI-native mindset required; you should already be using AI heavily in your own work.
