Mercor is a Series C AI data company valued at $10 billion, building infrastructure between human expertise and frontier AI models. The company operates a platform where millions of domain experts train frontier AI models, generating over $4 million in daily payouts. Mercor also serves Fortune 500 companies through its Enterprise offering, helping capture and translate expert workflows into AI agents. As Strategic Finance Lead, you'll build out Mercor's finance function during rapid-growth scaling. This role owns the financial health of key product lines and customers, with full P&L responsibility including revenue, margins, operating expenses, and unit economics. You'll serve as the primary finance partner to General Managers and product leaders, providing analytical rigor, clear communication, and strategic judgment. Key responsibilities include: managing product-line P&Ls with visibility into performance drivers; supporting GMs and product stakeholders with financial analysis and guidance; leading forecasting, planning, and financial modeling to size opportunities and inform quarterly/annual plans; developing product-level budgets and monitoring spend; evaluating returns on product investments and operational initiatives; translating financial data into strategic recommendations for leadership; and improving financial reporting systems and workflows for scalability. You'll work in a fast-paced environment alongside researchers, operators, and AI companies shaping frontier systems. The role requires building from scratch, thriving in ambiguity, and delivering outsized scope. Mercor operates in-person five days per week from San Francisco, NYC, or London offices. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in investment banking, private/growth equity, consulting, or strategic finance at high-growth tech companies, with startup experience preferred. You'll need strong analytical and modeling skills, comfort with incomplete or complex data, high ownership and execution capability, clear cross-functional communication, and process-oriented adaptability.
