OpenAI's Strategic Finance team is seeking a Strategic Finance leader for B2B Product to build foundational financial frameworks and decision-making processes for scaling the B2B business. This is a portfolio-wide individual contributor role spanning the API Platform and other B2B products.
You will own an integrated view of B2B monetization and product economics, including pricing, packaging, channel and usage mix, discounts, credits, and customer profitability. You'll build and maintain complex driver-based financial models connecting customer usage, product mix, pricing, and contribution margin. Your work will inform B2B compute demand and margin planning, helping leadership make sound growth investment and resource allocation decisions.
Key responsibilities include evaluating OpenAI's largest enterprise deals at both deal and portfolio levels; creating decision frameworks and guardrails for pricing, discounting, and margin management; and translating complex data into clear, data-driven recommendations and executive narratives. You'll partner closely with Product, GTM, Strategic Deal Desk, Compute Finance, Capacity Planning, Data, Accounting, and other Finance teams.
Ideal candidates have 10+ years in strategic finance, product finance, commercial finance, investment banking, private equity, or venture capital. You should have direct ownership experience with strategic finance, product finance, or commercial finance in complex B2B businesses. Strong first-principles financial modeling skills across usage, pricing, revenue, variable costs, and unit economics are essential. Experience with compute-intensive, usage-based, or AI/cloud business models is a plus. You'll need excellent cross-functional partnership skills, executive communication ability, and comfort with ambiguous problems. SQL, analytics tooling, and practical AI workflow acceleration experience are valued.
