Anthropic is seeking a Strategic Deals Lead to shape and execute partnerships with hyperscalers and cloud service providers that supply compute for training and serving frontier AI models. This role owns the full deal lifecycle—from opportunity identification through negotiation and close—for large-scale compute capacity and infrastructure agreements.
You will originate, structure, and negotiate complex multi-year deals that secure compute access while shaping how Anthropic's models are distributed, priced, and sold through partner platforms. The role requires bridging multiple internal teams: working with engineering and infrastructure to understand compute requirements; collaborating with product, go-to-market, finance, and legal to ensure commercial and distribution terms align and reinforce each other.
Key responsibilities include owning the strategy and deal pipeline for compute access expansion; leading full deal lifecycles for large-scale cloud transactions; building and maintaining executive-level relationships with commercial, finance, product, and legal counterparts at hyperscalers; structuring product and go-to-market elements of partnerships (model availability, marketplace arrangements, pricing, revenue-share, joint customer motions); applying capital markets and finance expertise to evaluate deal economics and financing components; translating engineering workload requirements into commercially viable deal terms; and monitoring the AI infrastructure landscape to provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
Required qualifications include deep experience in cloud computing, AI infrastructure, or adjacent technology ecosystems; demonstrated track record structuring and closing complex, high-value technology transactions as lead negotiator; experience negotiating agreements combining infrastructure/capacity terms with commercial and product terms; ability to work with technical teams and translate engineering concepts into deal structures; and proven ability to build partnerships and influence senior stakeholders.
Preferred qualifications include 8-10+ years in strategic deals, corporate development, partnerships, investment banking, or business development at technology companies, hyperscalers, or financial institutions; direct experience with hyperscaler AI or cloud partnerships including model gardens and marketplaces; experience managing multiple high-value transactions simultaneously; and understanding of capital markets and vendor financing for large infrastructure commitments.
