Precision for Medicine seeks a Strategic Account Manager (SAM) for its medical communications practice. This role bridges client strategy and internal execution, supporting a Strategic Account Director while building toward independent account leadership.
You will serve as the first line of support to Strategic Account Directors, managing projects and client relationships across the medical communications and life sciences landscape. The position combines account management, strategic planning, and team coordination.
Key responsibilities include:
**Client-Facing Strategy**: Understand clients' business challenges and strategic objectives. Develop annual strategic and tactical plans, manage ongoing client relationships, propose and oversee projects tied to client goals, and continuously offer ideas to strengthen client brands and activities.
**Internal Execution**: Initiate and oversee Precision AQ activities on behalf of clients. Manage day-to-day communication on strategy and planning. Become a trusted partner functioning as an extension of the client's team, taking ownership of their business outcomes.
**Financial & Team Management**: Manage client budgets and team efficiency to maximize returns. Work cross-functionally with internal teams to exceed client expectations. Mentor and coach team members to facilitate growth.
**Business Development**: Identify and cultivate new business opportunities. Understand revenue generation and contribute to company profitability through sound management.
**Ongoing Development**: Stay current with scientific, competitive, and regulatory developments in clients' industries. Continuously enhance marketing and strategy expertise. Network to grow influence and add value.
Day-to-day activities vary based on client needs, account size, and product status. Responsibilities may include preparing strategic plans, addressing ad hoc requests, reviewing client materials, leading client and healthcare practitioner calls, creating content, traveling to client meetings, and managing modest revenue goals.
Required: Bachelor's degree and minimum 3 years of account management experience overseeing both client relationships and internal teams in medical communications or related industries. Preferred: Advanced degree (PhD, MD, PharmD) in life sciences, pharmacy, or medicine; or advanced degree in management, marketing, or business. Prior exposure to medical affairs, publications, or peer-to-peer marketing strongly preferred.
Key skills: PowerPoint design proficiency, strategic and analytical thinking, professional communication across therapeutic areas, ability to interpret market dynamics and scientific/clinical data, and financial acumen.
