Harvey is an AI platform transforming legal and professional services through frontier agentic AI, enterprise-grade infrastructure, and deep domain expertise. The company is at a critical inflection point with strong product-market fit and world-class investor backing.
The Staff Web Designer will lead the design vision and execution across Harvey's web presence, including harvey.ai and all customer-facing digital surfaces. This is a high-impact individual contributor role responsible for defining the design experience that introduces the world to Harvey's category-defining legal AI platform.
Key responsibilities include owning and evolving the website design system—establishing scalable patterns, component libraries, and governance standards that maintain consistency while accelerating delivery. You will lead end-to-end design processes from concept and user research through interaction design, prototyping, and technical specification hand-offs to engineers and motion designers. The role involves driving continuous innovation through exploration, prototyping, and user testing to improve UX, conversion, and accessibility.
You will mentor junior designers, embedding best practices around responsive design, accessibility, and design-system governance. You'll run design reviews, present work to marketing leadership and cross-functional stakeholders, and articulate design rationale with clarity. The role also involves leveraging AI tools and emerging technologies to accelerate workflows and explore new interaction paradigms.
Required qualifications include 8+ years of professional design experience with significant focus on web and digital product design at a staff or senior-staff level. You need a strong portfolio demonstrating mastery of UX design, interaction design, responsive web design, and design-system architecture. Deep expertise in systems thinking—building, scaling, and governing design systems serving multiple teams—is essential. You should have strong command of modern design tools like Figma and comfort working at the intersection of design and front-end development, including pixel-level specifications and technical hand-offs. Demonstrated ability to leverage AI-assisted design workflows and a track record of raising quality and velocity in fast-paced, high-growth environments are required. Excellent communication and presentation skills with experience running design reviews and cross-functional critiques round out the profile.
