Vanta is seeking a Staff Visual Product Designer to lead the evolution of its design systems and visual language. In this role, you will define and scale Vanta's visual design foundations—including typography, color, layout, iconography, illustration, motion, and data visualization—across a complex B2B SaaS platform serving security and compliance professionals.
You will own the creation and evolution of foundational design system elements, including design tokens, component visual states, responsive behavior, theming, and platform-specific adaptations. Working closely with product designers, engineers, research, content design, and brand teams, you'll translate customer and business needs into scalable, reusable patterns that help teams move faster while maintaining high craft standards.
Key responsibilities include setting visual design standards across the organization, designing and prototyping system components and end-to-end workflows, ensuring accessibility and inclusive design practices, and collaborating with engineers to guarantee fidelity and maintainability. You'll bring visual clarity to data-rich workflows used by security, compliance, IT, legal, finance, and business stakeholders, and help define how the design system supports emerging needs like AI-powered experiences and automation.
Beyond execution, you'll establish principles and review practices that raise design quality across Vanta, mentor product designers, facilitate cross-functional critiques and workshops, and influence product strategy through compelling design perspectives and prototypes. You'll also measure design system impact through adoption, consistency, accessibility, usability, delivery efficiency, and customer outcomes.
This is a high-impact role for someone with 8+ years of digital product design experience, deep expertise in visual design craft, a strong portfolio demonstrating systems thinking, and proven success scaling design systems in growing B2B SaaS organizations. You should have strong product thinking, excellent communication and facilitation skills, and the ability to influence partners without formal authority.
