Kong is seeking a Staff Solutions Engineer to support Enterprise & Strategic accounts in the French region, working closely with Account Executive teams to lead technical sales cycles for new and existing customers.
In this role, you will be the technical bridge between Kong's API Management & Connectivity solutions and enterprise clients. Your responsibilities include supporting field sales teams in demonstrating product value, building trusted relationships throughout the sales lifecycle from discovery through production deployment, and managing proof-of-concepts. You'll coordinate with internal support, product, and engineering teams to ensure customer satisfaction and identify revenue expansion opportunities.
You'll create technical documentation for DevOps and implementation engagements, participate in thought leadership activities (webinars, blog posts, industry events), and onboard new customers while establishing growth potential with existing accounts.
You bring 7+ years of pre-sales solutions engineering or equivalent experience at SaaS, open-source, or enterprise software companies. You have foundational knowledge of API Management, Integration, cloud computing trends, and open-source business models. You're confident presenting to C-suite and Director-level executives, product managers, and engineers. You thrive in fast-paced, high-profile startup environments.
Bonus qualifications include experience with API Gateways or Service Mesh, Docker/Kubernetes, NGINX, HTTP, AWS, Postgres, Cassandra, Linux, DevOps/CI-CD pipelines, and DCOS/Mesos.
