Crusoe is a vertically integrated AI infrastructure company building the stack from energy to tokens to power ambitious AI workloads. They're solving the power bottleneck in AI compute through an energy-first approach.
As a Staff Software Engineer for Internal Tools & Automation, you'll embed with internal Crusoe teams (SRE, Finance, Sales, People Ops, product groups) to understand their workflows and build software that accelerates their work. This is a forward-deployed engineering role where your customer is an internal team and your success is measured by adoption and time/effort returned.
You'll identify high-leverage manual workflows and replace them with interactive applications, automation pipelines, and AI agents. Modern capabilities—write-back BI tools, governed AI agent interfaces, and automation platforms—enable you to deliver production tooling in days rather than quarters. You'll own work end-to-end: scoping with stakeholders, building, deploying, measuring adoption, and iterating. You'll also contribute reusable components (skills, integrations, UI patterns) to a shared platform.
This is a new function at Crusoe, and you'll be one of its first engineers, helping shape how it operates. You'll work with full-stack scope: user-facing interfaces, backend services, APIs, and data layers. Strong SQL and data modeling skills are essential, as is comfort with AI-assisted development and automation platforms.
You bring 8+ years of production software ownership, staff-level judgment to navigate ambiguous charters, and a product mindset that translates processes into clear tools. You balance fast delivery with correctness, maintain high standards, and measure success by whether stakeholder work becomes easier and more reliable.
