Salary: USD 100,000 - 300,000 / annual
Hercules (hercules.app) is building the future of AI software development. We're seeking a senior or staff-level full-stack software engineer to build and own features across our platform.
You will work on:
- AI Agent: the AI harness enabling anyone to build powerful full-stack applications
- App Builder: the interface for building, previewing, and deploying apps
- Hosting infrastructure: backend for scalably and reliably hosting hundreds of thousands of apps
- SDK: headless SaaS integrations including Hercules Commerce, Auth, CMS, Files & Media
- Platform: user-friendly experience with enterprise-grade security and reliability
- Internal AI coding harness: our internal coding tool designed to 10x engineering output

The founding team works in-office in San Francisco (Kearny and Bush). We have a strong preference for in-office presence but are open to remote for exceptional candidates willing to work US time zones and travel to the office regularly.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Incredibly strong software fundamentals: system design, architecture, data modeling, API design
- Code and codebase quality: write clean, maintainable code; work effectively in monorepos
- Product/design sense: track record of independently shipping features to customers
- SaaS expertise: billing (subscriptions, entitlements), identity (OAuth, RBAC, SSO/SAML), product analytics (A/B testing, feature flags), i18n, notifications for large user bases
- Core stack proficiency: TypeScript, React, containers, Postgres, Redis, Temporal
- AI capability: able to leverage frontier AI coding tools to 10x workflow
- Preferred tech familiarity: Clickhouse, Tailwind, IaC (CDK, Terraform), Docker, Otel, Hono, Drizzle ORM, Cloudflare, AWS, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google models
